In this workshop, we looked at more photoshop tools and how to use them we started with one that we used last time, the quick selection tool which I used to remove the sky of this picture with the second image as the one in the layer below. I used shortcuts such as Shift or Alt to add or subtract from any of the sections I selected, I used these to take my time in making sure that I didn’t accidentally select the hill that I wanted in the foreground.

After I removed the sky I was left with the two images combined but it didn’t look right as they were contrasting, to fix this I right-clicked the first picture and used the blending options tab. I tried out a few to see the effects and ended up choosing Overlay which is basically another image that is added to create depth and texture to the picture. Below is how it ended up looking:

To finish off the photo bash I added a person in front using the same tools as I did where I also tried the select subject tool however as there wasn’t enough contrast in the original picture I had to do it manually. I also added extra detail by going in with a brush tool where the mountain and the sky meet as it looked a bit off to blend it in a bit more and add a reflection of the sky’s colours.

What I like and could Improve on

I like how this image ended up, especially with how the colours in the sky go with the foreground from the filter, I think that adding in a little extra detail with the brush tool helped to blend the two together more as before there was still a bit of light from the sky in the original.

However, I think one thing I could improve on is the man in the foreground as he feels out of place, to make it better I could try adding another blending layer and maybe do the same as I did with the background and use the brush tool to add some shadows in.
