Final Render

I was fairly happy with how the model ended up looking, however there were a few things that I would have improved on if I had longer, one thing that I didnt realise was how long retopologising wouldve taken, this meant I had less time spent on textures and rendering which I feel like wouldve made the model look better.

Conclusion

Throughout the module I had a lot of ups and downs with the character, I definately think my strengths were with the design and modeling of the character. I enjoyed designing a character out of my comfort zone and modeling using Zbrush, I felt fairly confident during the beginning stages.

Of course I did have a lot of struggle nearer the second half of the module when I was using Maya, I felt like one thing I didnt take into consideration was the timing, I felt like I was in a good position when I was exporting to Maya and after doing some retopology I then realised how long it was going to take and that slowed down my progress and quality.

I am very happy with how a lot of the model turned out, I really like the depth in the face as I wanted her to have showgirl makeup and I feel like that comes across in the face with shine in the higher points of her face like the cheeks to give the effect of blush. I was a little nervous when I retopologised as I wasnt sure how some of the model was going to end up looking but I was overall really impressed with how especially the smaller objects look, the feathers is an example of this as the distance and texture takes away from the rigid look.

Although overall I am happy with my model one thing that stands out to me in the render is the textures, they dont look how I want to and feel a bit over done, especially with the eyes which might be due to the texture I used for it. I also had a few issues with other parts of the model that could’ve been retopologised better, this is the bodice and the shoes especially, I really wish I redid it and checked it as fine before I finished everything else as I had no time to go back and fix it; These parts of the model went inside the body and it gave a few sharp corners which didnt look good as a whole but I went over it in substance painter to give the illusion it wasnt there.
