These are the completed modules during my university course. Have a read into what I have done on each module and what I’m currently doing!

First year:

3D Asset Design

In this module I used Maya for the first time, the assignment was to create a game ready model that would go into our 3D environments in Unreal Engine 5. I was super excited to try out Maya and although I had a few challenges starting off, I feel like I pushed myself to try different things, especially exploring using particles, applying gravity so I could add snow to my model.

In this Module I created a 3D environment in Unreal Engine 5 incorperating the model from my 3D asset design. I Loved this module as I picked from different genres and was able to do a horror themed environment, I loved using the post processing effects as it really brought it to life and contrasting the atmosphere with the warmth of the candles.

Art and Animation Fundimentals

This module we looked into the fundimentals of art and animation creating basic concepts and basic tools on Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator. I particularly liked to explore the animation basics and canvas size/ settings for Adobe.

Games Design and Prototyping

Using Unity we created 4 prototypes each week and wrote about our experience, what went well and what went wrong when learning about C# and the Unity engine. I particularly enjoyed the second assignment for this module as I had to create a game from what Ive learnt and add extra into them, this was enjoyable and I created a frog platformer with wall jumping and different levels which I would like to expand on in the future with more controls and levels.

Game Audio

Alongside the prototyping module I created audio to go into the prototypes I made, creating foliage, sfx and music in the background. Using free sources and audio that we created ourselves this was great to understand how implementing audio into games is and what makes the atmosphere and gameplay better.
